It's a bloody good job I had my weetabix this morning otherwise I may have struggled to put on The Starlets 'Radio Friendly' 7" on the platter cos it's a right old heavy duty chunky piece of wax. I used so much energy doing it that I have none left to describe the music....

What their label says...

"..check out The Starlets, they've got soul, oh yes" - Stuart Murdoch, Belle and Sebastian
"Radio Friendly/Maggie loves Hopey" by The Starlets is the debut single release by new Glasgow based independent label Stereotone. Inspired by labels such as Postcard and Chemikal Underground, Stereotone plans to release some hidden gems from the underground independent pop scene in Scotland and beyond. Beginning with a series of high quality limited edition (500 copies) 7inch vinyl single releases, Stereotone will debut with the new single from cult Glasgow pop group, The Starlets.  "Radio Friendly/Maggie loves Hopey" was recorded by Teenage Fanclub producer Duncan Cameron at Glasgow's famous Riverside Studios, features contributions from Camera Obscura's Nigel Baillie on trumpet and has an accompanying promotional video produced by Martin Gray and Berny McGurk who have previously worked with Snow Patrol and The Trashcan Sinatras.
