Tapes 'N' Tapes: Hang Them All (XL) This has got 'fashion led' written all over it. Driven by an elastic, shuddering bass line and out of breath vocal, this is no doubt aimed at Franz Ferdinand loving post-disco, punk-funk acolytes. That was all the rage sometime ago but raised its head again when certain bands name check past genres and artists for the young fops to get into. The flip meanwhile, slows things down to a methadone crawl with atmospherics that recall a thousand maudlin, moping, indie boys. God! the vocalist even sounds like Tim from James.

What their label says...

It’s been two years since Tapes ‘n Tapes brought us their debut ‘The Loon’. The response to which was as exciting as the record itself. An indie dream with – amongst other things -  Letterman TV debuts, worldwide deals with XL and packed out, rapturously received gigs across Europe and their homelands of USA. Hail to the new Kings of Indie!

So after time spent hidden away recording their follow up album with David Fridmann (Mogwai, Mercury Rev), it is only fitting that they return with a song as explosive as their original entrance.

Roll on ‘Hang Them All’. With it’s Franz Ferdinand-esque. chugging guitars, stampeding drums and relentless organ swirls, it is swaggering, ballsy art-rock at its finest. Once again,  hail the return of the Indie Kings and their rock-trenched, fired-up new offering.

‘Hang Them All’ is released on Monday 31st March, with ‘Wired’ on the b-side, a track only otherwise available on the US itunes version of the new album ‘Walk It Off’.
