Another huge welcome is due for Tindersticks, Phil's fave pub singers. 'The Hungry Saw' is a ltd 7" only taster for forthcoming long playing shenanigans & I'm delighted to inform you this song could be easily shoehorned onto the first couple of albums. It's got that sad twanging guitar, yearning vocals & twinkly xylophone but the percussion is a little more contemporary & lighthearted. Otherwise this is a fine return to form for the ex Notts troubadours. Not that they ever lost their form, just left it in the pub for a few years.....Great

What their label says...
The Hungry Saw Back To The
‘The Hungry Saw’ is the title track and first single to be released from Tindersticks’ long-awaited album. A
perfect example of Tindersticks’ long honed skill of writing
mesmerizing and intriguingly enigmatic songs, ‘The Hungry Saw’ is the
tale of the darkly destructive devil in all of us, crooned over tonic
tinkling percussion and exuberant brass. The B-side of the single is
entitled ‘Back To The Earth’, a title that unintentionally reflects
Tindersticks’ growth and eventual evolution, returning them to a core
of three original members with renewed passion and hunger and resulting
in them writing one of their finest ever albums.
