The Teenagers arrive in my fat ears first this week. I read about these a while back & was most amused to see the hyperbole surrounding them was A/ Because they're French B/ Because they apparently swear a lot (but not on this, their hit parade bound newie) It can't possibly be because they write great songs. 'Love No', the new single, is catchy yet insipid radio indie, kinda chugs along in a euro indie fashion that's about as challenging as Soulwax circa 1999. I like the spoken word verse but the chorus is just designed to quell your murderous rage when stuck in a 4 mile tailback on the M1 in the pissing rain at 7 at night while Zane Lowe's in the toilet creaming himself over the girl out of Crystal Castles (possibly). The best thing I can muster is i'm glad they wrote a song about Scarlett Johanssennnnn. Because that stops me embarrasing everyone with my tribute played on a Mike Patton voice manipulator with a death harpsichord solo in the middle. 3x7"s are on offer. You enviromentally astute youngsters!
