I'm going to review one of these Be Your Own Pet 7"s 'Black Hole' at 33rpm as opposed to the recommended 45rpm. It sounds like some gutter garage band, nice and heavy with bits of a Killdozer thing happening... Okay I'll do it at 45 then. It's a catchy one this, immediately it seeps into your head and has you twitching. It's proper good punky pop fun. The B-side 'Bummer' is like Joan Jet, Patty Smith and The Who all having a big sesh and getting trollied. The band member on the sleeve looks about 12 years old like. Bless him he's got little bits of bum fluff. Shaving blows, thats why I've got a big fuzz face.

What their label says...

Heralding their return and preceding the release of their highly anticipated new album ‘Get Awkward’, Be Your Own Pet present four limited edition 7” vinyl singles.

It’s been nearly three years since Nashville teen-punks Be Your Own Pet burst on to the UK music scene in a whirlwind of hype and critical acclaim.       The first chance then that the pubic will get to hear songs from the new album comes in the form of four, limited edition 7” vinyl singles, two each being released on consecutive weeks in the lead-up to the album.    The artwork for each 7” will feature a different member of the band on and each 7” is limited to 1500 copies only.
It’s refreshing to see the band haven’t mellowed in the time they’ve been away – each of the four a-sides present here are still short, sharp and often vicious in their delivery.
