After that aural twatting, i'm trying to get my head around the celtic MOR plod of Frightened Rabbit. This could just appeal to fans of Snow Patrol, such is its sing-song innoffensiveness. It's not what you'd expect from music busting indie giant Fat Cat but honestly, 'Head Rolls Off' makes me think i'm in HMV trying to fight off old grannies battling for RoboCop box sets & the latest Resident Evil 3D horror shoot 'em up game for my cybersonic soul-leaching mega console. Not bad in a Radio 2 way.....7" only

What their label says...

Hot on the heels of the acclaimed ‘Sing The Greys’ album and preceding their forthcoming album, ‘Head Rolls Off’ shows a progression in terms of songwriting, sonic depth & as a fully realised entity.  An unconventional three piece with a defined personality and a gift for being able to nail a near perfect pop song, Frightened Rabbit convey candid tales of ordinary folk with a wry, acerbic wit via an eloquent, emotive, modern garage-pop aesthetic.  Recorded by Peter Katis (Mercury Rev, Interpol) over the space of two weeks and mixed over the ensuing fortnight, forthcoming album ‘Midnight Organ Fight’ was conceived and realised in a much shorter time span than its predecessor, with the intention of creating a more coherent, ‘pop’ sounding album.  An incredibly accomplished live outfit, having supported the likes of We Are Scientists and Idlewild already, their performances at times recall the ragged, muscular energy of emo / punk three pieces such as early Sebadoh, but Frightened Rabbit’s ouvre nevertheless harbours a far more universal agenda.
