Pretty Girls is the debut single from 21-year old London-based singer-songwriter Josh Weller. Framed in the context of a pretty, acoustic pop song with stings of melodica and a toe-tapping beat, the sunny vibe belies the song's stinging lyrics about the kind of girls who are "never nice 'cause they've been pretty all their lives." Someone, it seems, has been bruised before…"The song is written about one girl in particular," admits Josh. "I was punching well above my weight and she knew it."
Unsurprisingly, given his lyrical zing, Weller is a fan of Elvis Costello, and a ringer for him too with a look that's part Buddy Holly, part Eraserhead.
Memorably, NME once described him as a "tweedy troubador".
