To follow that with a 7" on Weekender should be an insult but The Lines' 'Domino Effect' fails miserably in it's quest to deconstruct my sunny demeanour today! This is anthemic and well written indie pop with the big lights in it's sights. I should hate it but there's a real bit of soul & atmosphere hidden in the rather obvious arrangement & soaring guitars. Twin vocal harmonies, energetic drums & guitar cathedrals unite to give us a rather pacy & catchy tune which i could see Lamacq & his ilk getting a little bothered about. Fairly timeless stuff even though i've heard it a million times. 7" only!

What their label says...

Hailing from Wolverhampton, The Lines are a group of dedicated individuals with huge ambition making swirling psychedelic pop music.   With ‘Domino Effect’ they have written a song of truly anthemic proportions, a mix of bittersweet lyrics, defiant guitars and a euphoric chorus which rightfully justifies comparisons with The Verve, The Rapture, Kasabian, and The Stone Roses. In the past year The Lines have travelled to venues across the UK and Europe, wooing crowds along the way with a live show that wouldn’t look or sound out of place in a large arena or festival stage.  The single launch next month takes place at Wolverhampton’s Wulfrun hall which holds in excess of 1000 people, such is the level of hometown support for the band.
