MV & EE i'd like to review but we're having a Sade/Ice-T face off here. Dividing office politics right down the centre is a debate on what is "soul". Mingus is our resident soul man, reportedly having seen Sade in her heyday. Phil feels she's erm....not very good. Ant levels the field with a report of Ice-T being a huge Sade fan. Which scares Phil into submission. Whilst this fued is erupting, our soundtrack is this hazey, cosmic slice of forest folk called 'Old Black Joe', a 7" on GPS that just floors me with it's earthy chrms. You can imagine a dog flopped on her lap whilst she purrs dreamily into a cracked mike, a small glass of bourbon and a jazz fag smouldering on a rough pine table by her feet. By far the loveliest thing i've heard from Mr. & Mrs. Valentine. The flip is a more freeform stoned ramble from Planet psychedelic wolf howl. Limited to 500
