Second single from another one of these young fops who are taking over the UK with their psuedo-folk/pub-pop. Sounds like the sort of song he's written to please his mum or make housewives cry while they're washing up on a grey, cold afternoon alone. The music is of the neuvo-folk styling with up - beat brash blasts and shuffling drumbeat. We gave him single of the week last time around. This one will no doubt fly out like the last one. Fans of Shady Bard or a weeping Jack Penate will love this. Seven inch single only. You know you love it...

What their label says...

With acclaim for their debut single '5 Years Time' still ringing in their ears, Noah & The Whale up the ante with another double A-side gem. Embracing all manner of instrumentation - fiddle and harmonium both make regular appearances - and driving things forward with an irrepressible energy, no band does playful, upbeat folk coupled with beautiful, honest emotion, quite like this London based four piece.

21 year old Charlie Fink is the group's vocalist, songwriter and visionary (who also happens to be producing Laura Marling’s debut album). Blessed with an innate gift for melody and with a turn of phrase that can make the simplest sentiment seem like a revelation, Charlie doesn't shy away from the big issues; "Pretty much all my lyrics are about love, death or time in some shape or form." The forthcoming single couldn’t be a more perfect package: ‘2 Bodies 1 Heart’ is a beautiful folk ballad about the total emotional and physical entwinement of two lovers, whilst 'Rocks and Daggers' is, as Charlie describes it, “a three part story of love and friendship. Of trust, dependence and betrayal.”

This Christmas Eve, not only will the singles be available to download, but the brand spanking new Noah and The Whale website will be launched. This unique portal into the band’s world will allow fans to access a wealth of ever-growing material, from artwork to music to videos. And to spread the Christmas cheer even further, there will be a free download of Noah and the Whale’s Christmas song -  ‘To Cyril at Crunkmas’.

The band's live performances have earned them a loyal following on the London scene (they have played more than 100 gigs already this year including supports with Feist, Jeffrey Lewis and Broken Social Scene) and they are now embarking on their first headline UK tour. All you Londoners make a note in your diary: Noah and The Whale will also be hosting their own Christmas Party at Bush Hall on 10 December with guest appearances by friends such as Johnny Flynn, Slow Club and Jay Jay Pistolet - it's guaranteed to be a cracker.
