Here's a taster from the forthcoming School of Language album on Memphis Industries. In case you don't know who he is he's the singer out of Field Music. Apparently they all have solo projects coming out.... lordy me. It's a 7" called Rockist Single and it's one of my favourite tracks from the forthcoming album. Firstly the production smacks you in the face. It's massive.... everything sounds loud! It's quintessentially English sounding quirky pop music.... think XTC and 10CC.. doesn't sound like either of 'em but they have their approach to quirky songwriting... It does pretty much sound like Field Music.... the vocals remind me a bit of Eric Matthews at times. Cracking tune this... maybe even a spot of Cornelius in here... well good!!
