Pole: 'Steingarten Remixes 4' (Scape) In which Deadbeat remixes 'Sylvenstien' taking it on a chinking, percussive ride with springy aquatic sort of FX. It's the hand percussion textures and the disco-dancehall sound that appeals to moi. The flip has Ghislain Poirier re-interpretating 'Winkelstreben' which starts out with a cacophony of handclaps, some whirring keylines and an ace stabbing, bubbling, bassline interuppted by some backwards masking. It's the claps that drives this remake and again i'm hearing a slight dancehall inflection. Gudrun Gut's abc mix of 'Madchen' has some really smudgy, gurgling bass tones rumbling under her additional vocals. Minimal and clicky, this pock marked liquidy techno re-rub is the harshest of one of the strongest sets in this encouraging series. Seek!
