The Go Team have to wake me out of my slumber. Has there never been a more happy sounding band?? You couldn't possibly be miserable and listen to this. 'The Wrath Of Marcie'is a proper bouncy kicking tune with trumpets and some very low in the mix rapping. Massive drums.... massive everything. man this is great... somewhere between Sesame Street And Ollie & Jerry. There's even some My Bloody Valentine guitars chucked in at one point.... at another I'm sure I can hear 'Angel Is The Centerfold' by the J Geils Band. Perfect pop anyway.

What their label says...

With no small amount of fanfare, Memphis Industries are pleased to announce ‘The Wrath Of Marcie’, the next single from The Go! Team’s ace new album ‘Proof Of Youth’. If you’ve heard the album, you’ve probably already got this track lodged irremovably in your head: ‘The Wrath Of Marcie’ is built on the biggest blast of brass this side of Stax Records’ Memphis Horns - Ninja’s gymnastic rapping and Kaori’s Deerhoof-esque chorus. Lovely. To say The Go! Team have had a busy year is an understatement – from the start of the festival season on, they’ve been jet-setting back and forth across the globe at least once a week. They’ve played in Ibiza, Gothenburg, Oslo, Berlin, Beijing, Shanghai and Finland, and still found plenty of time to entertain home crowds. But the fact that they’re in demand should come as no surprise – The Go! Team are famed for energetic shows that teeter on the edge of chaos, with Ninja working the entire stage and two drummers pounding out those huge beats. And their new album, ‘Proof Of Youth’, demands a live viewing.
