Also on GPS is a Wooden Wand10" called 'Horus of The Horizon' which was previously a limited CDR thing on the great Three Lobed label. This is 6 tracks of the acoustic Toth gear rather than his fuzzed out wah wah psych gear. This is very much more 60's trad singer songwriter gear along the lines of Bob Dylan. It's one of the best things I've heard by him as well. The songwriting seems to shine through more as the tunes aren't swamped in fuzz. Limited!!

What their label says...
Previously released as a mailorder subscription cd only, on the u.s ‘three lobed recordings’ label, the incredible “horus of the horizon” now makes an appearance on vinyl. Backed here by “the omen bones band” (satya sai and hush arbors’ keith wood) “horus” contains six incredible james toth/ww penned tracks, all way too good to be hidden away on subscriber only release. Predominantly acoustic yet prone to the odd crushing keith wood wah-wah attack (check out “black hanna” where his guitar break is nothing short of shattering). james toth’s vocals have never sounded better too, often dylanesque, often delivered as rambling freeform narratives, the EP’s closing piece “war star days” is the perfect example- a driving, acoustic mantra, with scattered, incredibly engaging lyrics (as with all his work under the lone ‘wooden wand‘ moniker). A monumental EP and hopefully, a launch pad for the newcomer, to wand’s mighty back catalogue- not least this year’s “james and the quiet” full length on thurston moore’s ecstatic peace label. 500 only on 10” vinyl
