What their label says...

Limited edition of 500 7” vinyls. Side A – A Moment of Clarity (6.15), Side B – Lincoln (4.12). Hot off the back of ‘Condor & River’, released on Gizeh’s sister Cdr label Loom in July, Her Name is Calla’s debut single is a much more direct piece of work. Her Name is Calla omit brings to mind a more stripped back Radiohead or a more compact Godspeed You! Black Emperor. It has a brooding, ethereal quality to it and a distinct feel of England, maybe an ancient England, but England all the same. To back up the single ‘Calla will be out on the road with the rather wonderful new Beggars Banquet signings iLiKETRAiNS in September, alongside some headline dates of their own.Press/features confirmed: Drowned In Sound/ Angry Ape/ Losing Today/ Sandman/ Die Shellsuit Die/ Silent Ballet/ Subba Cultcha/ Sound of Violence + more to follow. Selected previous press: “All the time there is an overtly sinister edge that suggests something life-changing (or should that be life-ending?) is about to take control at any second. Almost like the incidental music to a short narrative about one man’s struggle and ultimate failure for survival.”  Drowned In Sound 8/10. “Sometimes frail, fragile and unsettlingly eerie at others turbulent, crushing as though surfing the crest and orchestrating at will some unseen oncoming storm.” Losing Today
