Joan Malé is Monoceros, best known for his glorious 2005 debut CD on Expanding, ‘When I Was A Child I Wanted To Be An Astronaut’, and this new EP is the debut release on Barcelona’s PhonoBox label. The four tunes on Side A also occupy Side B, exactly the same except that they are reversed, as the tracks and rhythms were designed to be played in both directions without any post-production.The music follows the roots of ‘When I Was A Child…’ but with simplified rhythmic structures and much use of acoustic guitar, offering a preview of the overall style of his forthcoming CD ‘Tales For Silent Nights’.
