Records like Mudboy's 'These Songs Are Not Ghosts' reward you for sticking with the vinyl format. The sleeve is as gorgeous as any record I've seen. It's a complex laser die cut job with a printed inner that sits beneath. Ace metallic print and blood red vinyl. Fantastic. The sounds are brooding. ritual style magic drones and off the planet sounds. Providence RI must be populated by total freaks. I've yet to hear a sane record come from those parts. Speaking of which there a like 5 new records on Load due soon including a new Sightings album. Yours truly is gonna have to sell a kidney.
This wanders into slightly understated prog/ psych turf which my 'lady' describes as someone messing about in her their bedroom. She knows nothing about this stuff but I do appreciate her input. LOL. It does have an endearing simplicity to it at times which I really do like. Lo-Fi Melancholy keyboards and all.
