Woohoo grim dark lords out there can sleep easily (and evilly) with this new Sunn O))) vinyl only release called Oracle on Southern Lord. Rest assured it will be available as a limited double CD with bonus stuff shortly (I'm guessing this so don't hold me to it...). Southern Lord know how to fleece you. Betwixt thee gone evil spirit, your darklord Malley O ith here with feedback and slowed down evil choking voices (which sound like Heinlich Maneuvers gone wrong). This is about as dark as music gets really. I don't mind it as well though Stephen O Malley is a complete wanker (I met him at the supersonic festival and he was such a tool I wish I'd brought my tool box and wedged him in there cos I'm need of a new spanner). Anyhoo this is slow dirgey evil which features Joe Preston from The Melvins amongst others. Limited I'm sure as all their vinyl sells out right quickly. Nice packaging and 2 soft, strong and very long tracks make this an evil package for your doomheads. Though I can't but help think it's all parodying itself already.

What their label says...

*Oracle is the new Sunn 0))) recording, exclusively and officially
released on vinyl only.
*Features guest collaborations with Atsuo (Boris), Attila Csihar (Mayhem)
and Joe Preston (Thrones, ex-Melvins etc...).
*Beautiful gatefold jacket designed by SOMA and featuring photographs of
the sculpture by Banks Violette, of which the band provided musical
accompaniment for.
*"Orakulum" was originally composed for a live performance collaboration
with the New York sculptor Banks Violette at the Maureen Paley Gallery in
London, June of 2006.
*Violette created sculptural representation of SUNN O)))s entire backline
in cast resin and salt, including amplifier stacks, instruments, effects &
accompaniments.
*In addition, black laquered stage platforms and sound panels were created
as a basis for the groups actual backline setup, and a selection of
drawings were presented within the context.
*The result of this performance and collaboration, which was conducted in a
sealed gallery space, was intended to generate a feeling of absence, loss
and a phantom of what once was.
