The color orange gets a hard time at my house. The missus hates it. I on the other hand like it, It's such an under rated color... So here I have a tasteful orange 7" from The King Of Blues 'Come Fi Di Youth' is a politically charged dub / punk track. Think Don Letts, The clash etc. The production is sweet and the ideas all appeal to me but somehow it just falls short of hitting the spot for me personally although I really love this style. 7" only on Field.

What their label says...

The King Blues are one of the UK punk underground’s best loved bands, and they’re now primed for an assault on the wider world having signed to new label Field Recordings after issuing their early recordings on UK punk's famous Household Name label.

Not your typical cider ‘n’ glue-sounding punk band - featuring two acoustic guitars, a ukulele and a Melodeon, theirs is a heady and life-affirming concoction of soul-tinged ska, street poetry, working class/protest folk, dub bass lines and doo-wop melodies, all delivered with a punk attitude. Taking in the Two Tone scene and US ska-punk originators such as Operation Ivy and Rancid and onto more recent UK exponents like Capdown, theirs is the gritty flipside to the slick ska-pop of today; a dub-heavy summer sound that’s more akin to Dillinger, Big Youth or Joe Strummer and the lyrics of Billy Bragg than it is Lily Allen and Jamie T.

The King Blues have a commitment to politics and resistance culture, as showcased on the band's first single for Field - Com Fi Di Youth, a rallying cry against the BNP's recruitment campaigns.

Come Fi Di Youth is available on 7" Orange Vinyl backed by new track some Men Don't Know.
