aaaahhhhhh Loney, Dear now with Saturday Waits. His sweet high pitched Scandinavian poppy utterings fill the office like the sound track to a feel good film montage. All buddies.. lots of close hugs and sincere smiles. Taken from his cheeky new album which is worth a listen indeed. B-sides a new one to my ears and its more thoughtful sounding with plenty of inventiveness. Very pleasant popular beat music for all the family. xxx. 7" on Regal.

What their label says...

Loney, dear’s second UK album release Loney, Noir came out on Regal in April and received rave reviews, earning him comparisons with Paul Simon, Belle & Sebastian, Sufjan Stevens and the Guillemots in the process. A limited single, the exuberant ‘I Am John’, followed on Regal’s single club and was quickly snapped up by fans.

His UK debut Sologne and the preceding single 'The City, The Airport’ were equally praised, the album making it into the number 27 spot in Rough Trade’s 2006 round up whilst the single was included in Sunday Times Culture’s’ ‘Singles Of The Year’ list.

NME called new single ‘Saturday Waits’ the sound of “your heart beating”. A deceptively understated gem, it builds into an uplifting climax of vocal harmonies and scattered tambourines. The animated video to ‘Saturday Waits’ features a tragic love story between two dogs and is directed by The Knife's visual wizard Andreas Nilsson.
