Ant here with the latest 7" on the highly collectable Transgressive imprint. It's been a wee while since we had anything from Battle. 'The Longest Time' has moments that remind me of a less Oasis sounding Kasabian. It's catchier than a dose of clamidia at the indie disco. This comes in hand printed sleeve. By that I mean the sleeve actually has a hand print on it, like the ones you used to do at playskool. Except this is in a tasteful black paint and not a big red and yellow splodge.

What their label says...

TRACKLISTING: A) The Longest Time, B) Takuya,

OVERVIEW: Having finely honed their craft since they introduced themselves with the Top 40 single 'Tendency' and the accompanying 'Back To Earth' mini-album, Battle are ready to release their long awaited full length debut album 'Break The Banks' for Transgressive Records on August 13th. The single 'The Longest Time' will be released on July 2nd and was produced by Geoff Knowler and mixed by Adrian Hall (The Young Knives). 'The Longest Time' highlights Battle's memorable songwriting and the impassioned vocals of frontman Jason Bavanandan. 'Break The Banks' will be preceded by a second single, 'Paper Street', on August 6th. 'Break The Banks' has the hallmarks of a potentially classic set; the sound is hard to pigeonhole yet immediately recognisable, whilst lyrically it picks upon major themes that are timeless in their nature. It’s an album that perfectly compliments Jason’s philosophy.
