What their label says...

Formed a band, released a string of brilliant singles and a brilliant debut album, then packed all their worldly possessions into a suitcase and set off to conquer the world. Now London-based five piece Art Brut return with a new album, “It’s A Bit Complicated”, released on 25th June on Labels / Mute on CD, LP and download.

The album is produced by Dan Swift, famed for his work with Kasabian, The Futureheads, Franz Ferdinand and Snow Patrol.

Lead single Direct Hit sees Art Brut exchanging spiky post punk for a blistering hair metal riff and Weezer-esque harmonies, while lead singer Eddie Argos treats us to the kind of insanely catchy pop chorus that reminds us why we all fell in love with Art Brut in the first place.

Since humble beginnings in the New Cross DIY scene and the release of their debut album Bang Bang Rock And Roll in 2005, the gilded palace of rock and roll has opened itself up to Art Brut. From the sublime (support slots with Oasis and Ghostface Killah with Russell Simmons, Gnarls Barkley and Wyclef Jean queuing to meet them backstage) to the ridiculous (spawning Art Brut franchise groups across the globe, including a certain Art Brut 47, AKA We Are Scientists), Art Brut have become America’s favourite sons, appearing on the Jimmy Kimmell Show, featuring in Spin magazine’s Top 25 Greatest Live Acts and reaching number 3 in Pitchfork’s albums of the year.
