It always gets a bit full on here whenever any Great Pop Supplement singles arrive. This morning a box was delivered containg two of the things. So much for an easy Friday at work. The first is a split from Wooden Wand and Hush Arbours. James Toth's Wooden Wand project serves up 'Breather' which is an out take from the 'Second Attention' LP. It's proper Bourboun drinking country type stuff. The Hush Arbors side 'Swappin' follows on niceley from their split with Voice Of The Seven Woods. A gentle track that is stripped down and gradually develops into a psychedelic folk trip out. Comes in the usual lush packaging with inserts. I've just clocked some of their forthcoming releases. Tunng, Shady Bard, Woodcraft Folk, MV & EE. A veritable who's who of the current wave of folkie type gear.

What their label says...
gps16 wooden wand / hush arbors 7" this next GPS releases pairs the mighty wooden wand (aka james toth) with his first ever uk release, prior to the release of the first wooden wand lp since signing to ecstatic peace next month. he offers up "breather" excusively here, a killer outtake from last year's classic, criminally overlooked "second attention" full length. the reverse provides another gem from keith woods' hush arbors, with another psych folk gem following the last gps split 45 with VOTSW (a single of the week in several places).
