Now on Marquis Cha Cha with Let's Wrestle with Song for Abba Tribute Record. Sounding like Jeffrey Lewis with a similar grasp of witty lyrics, his comic book reference and dead pan vocal tuning. Musically its simple lo-fi with lots of and guitar bass and drums but its got some chord changes that surprise and entertain. It's got that Pavement lazy sound. "The position I find myself in, genocide seems reasonable" he sings. .The lads are liking it but I'm thinking it might be cos he sings f*ck and they all think swearing is cool..... which of course it isn't.
Love this record? Hate it? Tell us.

Track-listing: A. Song For Abba Tribute Record B. I Want To Be In Husker Du
North London three-piece Let’s Wrestle comprise of WPG on guitar and vocals, Mike Hankin on bass and Louis Scase on drums. Influenced by the mischievous, surreal humour of David Shrigley and the home-spun stylings of anti-folk raconteur Jeffrey Lewis, they sound like a furious amalgam of Swell Maps and ELO. Let’s Wrestle came to the attention of Marquis Cha Cha - home to Bromheads Jacket, Tiger Force and Whitey - earlier this year. The band recorded their debut 45 with their friend Simon Trought, who captured their unique sound at his Spitalfields studio, Soup. Let’s Wrestle took great pleasure in designing all the artwork for the single, a continuation of the artwork WPG has developed through his cult fanzine, Fables Of Faubus. Featuring ‘Song For Abba Tribute Record’ and ‘I Want To Be In Husker Du’, this single aptly demonstrates the distillation of the group’s vision into a coherent, thrilling art-pop rush.
