We have a split 12" on Anorakism which has Caro Snatch and Dr Nojoke remixing each other. 'Wrye Track' is a brooding techno/ post industrial track with female vocal. Almost like a much darker Chicks On Speed. The remix goes for a atmospheric minimal / micro house clicky style keeping the vocal intact. Dr Nojoke's Hohlraumsammler on the flip has a driving bassline and funky percussion that would move a floor filled with smoke and strobes. It's called Wysiwyg!!

What their label says...
ANORAKISM
Anorakism is a platform for experimental, innovative electronic music and visual art to offer a thought-provoking and enjoyable multi-media experience. This is the first release on vinyl to be followed by more output on wax and other mediums. Even this first release on vinyl sets the "dare to be rare" tone as underground agitators caro snatch (UK) and Dr. Nojoke (DE) share a Double A side 12", whereby each artist has submitted an exclusive original track. The artists then remix each other resulting in a more unified inter-relation between the tracks making it a refreshingly cohesive experience when the release is listened to as a whole.
Anorakism 001 is appropriately titled "wysiwyg" as it defines both the label's authentic desire to shake up perceptions of electronic sub-genre and vinyl format and the artists' direct interaction with each other's contrasting yet complimentary sound.
Label instigator ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Tanya Christensen aka DJ Paizan nurtured the concept with her Leeds-based Anorak Club Nights (where the likes of Portable, Steevio, Tom Demac, Leif and caro snatch played live). Label Launch parties have already taken place in Berlin (nbi) and Stockholm (Svaj) with further events and UK tour planned for 2007. Artists for Anorakism 002, scheduled to be released later this year, are already confirmed: minimal techno Mindtours maestro Steevio and erotic electro mistress Frau Aike from Vienna.

ARTIST INFO
caro snatch - "one-woman electronic avalanche" (bbc.co.uk).
has scaled a somewhat steep learning curve after only touching her first musical instrument 8 years ago by default after back surgery. She started to play with machines whilst laid up in bed and now, 2 EPs (Xstatic Records & Phonector), a few compilations ("Girl Monster" on Chicks on Speed, Wired Records & La Mue) and her fair share of gigs later, has recently unleashed her self-produced debut album on Phonector- Berlin. Caro was nurtured in Newcastle-upon-Tyne's electronic scene then spent a while in the creative melting pot that is Berlin, where she was active as a solo artist, collaborator with musicians, visual artists and fashion designers and organising "Rare as Green Dog" electronic music events. She is now based in Manchester.
This hardware poetess is not confined to category nor sub genre as she pursues her own authentic expression producing a refreshingly unique and personal sound. There is however a notable common theme of deep broken beats, fat bass, unconventional structures and multi-lingual word manipulation. Musical references include Bjork, Laurie Anderson, M.I.A, Kate Wax and "a cyber punk Debbie Harry" (Crack magazine, UK). Caro creates "mood music with an improvisatory feel" (Lucy O'Brien, Girl Monster sleeve notes) spanning the emotional spectrum with a rather British dry sense of humour. Currently also working on her first feature film soundtrack, remixing other artists and being part of a number of networks and collectives.
Dr.Nojoke
Dr.Nojoke was born in Berlin and has remained there ever since, providing the backdrop for his musical evolution. It has taken him from early childhood imprints of mono-kitchen-radio music to a youth filled with musical experimentation at home and many a band to explore the musical genres de jour. With the project elektroblitz mitte he produced a plethora of film and theatre soundtracks always steering towards electronic music production. This led to emergence of Dr.Nojoke in '99 and his first self-productions Die hypnokommode and Flub-Dubd 1 & 2.
Dr.Nojoke released his first album Flucht nach Barbylon in Dec 04 on phonector, the second album Barbylon Tapes II also came out on phonector in April 06, followed by releases on netlabels like Direktschall, Idealtechno, Yuki Yaki, Equaliteq and FOEM. Since 2005 Dr.Nojoke has been working on technoid sound-sculptures based on his archive of self-made noise-recordings collected over the years. He defines this deep, funky, minimal, quirky, clicky micro-cut-up-music as Clikno. Although his sounds come to 95% from the acoustic, real world, he forms highly technological Clikno-music. Amidst all this well-considered concept is the element of fun as the live show may feature instruments such as radio, crushed plastic bottles and souvenirs as Dr.Nojoke celebrates the joy of finding special sounds in everyday objects not usually appreciated for their musicality.
