Superb second album from Olympia, Washington’s The Gossip, essential listening for fans of Sleater Kinney, White Stripes etc, and re-issued here to coincide with their steadily increasing profile. Singer Beth was this week named the coolest person in rock by the NME and subsequently had her picture splashed around pretty much all the
newspapers.
Recorded by John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill, Harvey Danger) in Seattle, by now they had left their
simple blues roots behind them and were as equally influenced by the "no-wave" fever that was sweeping the youth of the nation.
