Field Music clearly have no vision of ever being a popular band, hence why they have opted for the more traditional route of song writing, instead of producing music that sells by the thousands to our magazine led youth.

'Shorter Shorter' is an EP of focused pop classics, throwing together charming melodies, harmonious vocals, pianos, violins, strings and catchy hooks not heard since Dexy's Midnight Runners. Although the rather distinctive 60's style production seems somewhat unconventional in comparison to contemporary bands, it only adds to the delightful charisma of such distinguished music.

Unfortunately, 'Shorter Shorter' is destined to cause few tremors in the grand scale of things, due to the main fact there's no predictable garage guitars or styled punk. But on the other hand, they've just released a bloody great single.
