And now for something completely different. The delicate warblings of ALASDAIR
ROBERTS are enough to soothe my stressed head today. There's probably
not much that can be said about him that hasn't been said before. His new album
called The Amber Gatherers is a superb example of his gentle paced folk
music. As ever there's that massive Celtic influence drifting through his songs
and his voice is just to die for. Occasionally some of the instrumentation
possibly sounds a bit mainstream and Beth Orton has sprung to mind. Only
on a couple of the songs mind you. It's still a beautiful record and is
extremely recommended!!
