Abstract electronic hip hop/art skool crown dDamage have a 12" out on
Tigerbeat 6. I always thoroughly dig at least one or 2 tracks
on everything they've done so lets see how this chuffer fares. 1st
track is underpinned by a chunky electro break with loads of
meandering, morphing discordant chaos layered over the top but the
jerky, playful bassline holds the madness together. Next track is a
tuff, bendy electro remix that would actually get my chubby frame on a
danceflooooooor yaaahhha. More juddering, morphing electro madness on
side 2 but with a more refined tempo. I think this 12" is one of the
best things
I've heard on Kid 606's label for ages. Taking this funky, weird mofo home with me....

What their label says...
Ink 808 expresses dDamage's love of electro-punk, noisy acid-trash cut-ups and broken breakbeats. The two brothers brand of melting-pot techno has been blowing minds since the turn of the century, most recently on the Planet-Mu releases Radio Ape and Pressure. On Ink 808 they're backed by a remix team featuring fellow French producers Krazybaldhead, Krikor, and Jean Nipon vs. a*. Krazybaldhead has recorded for the Daft Punk-affiliated Ed-Banger Records and has worked with top talents on the French scene like Feadz (B-Pitch Control) and Paraone (TTC). He's currently working on another Ed-Banger project with American MC Tes (lex). Krikor is one of the most exciting producers of the French "minimal techno" movement. In the past few years he's been responsible for over thirty releases and is now one of the main artists on the Karat Records roster alongside Chlo/ and Ark. Jean Nipon vs a* on the other hand is just a sad, old wanker -- a talentless git, according to the band, who just happens to know the right people. dDamage have also just completed work on a companion video featuring Doctor Agueev, Ape Robot, RA, and -- reportedly
