Speaking of SUBTLE they have a new single out called ' The Mercury Craze' which features a Soft Pink Truth mix and a guy from Wolf Parade singing on some track or other. I could be more informative but hey that's why you love us right? We don't care. Honest.... I quite like this but mainly cos I'm a fan of Dose One but musically I think it's kind of poor. It sounds like they're going a bit stadium to me..... Outkast is being banded around the office. There you go. Am not enormously impressed but like I say I like Dose One so it's not all bad.... Actually Middleclass Hunt featuring Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade) is an excellent tune... his voice reminds me of Beck's....

Love this record? Hate it? Tell us.

What their label says...

It sees the band turns their collective discerning ear toward stacking melodies over a bouncing soundtrack that wouldve heralded the coming of Gnarls Barkley had it been released when it was recorded. Subtle is the four-dimensional, mostly physical embodiment of our best hopes for great music. They exist decidedly on the fringe of the modern body of song, yet pump bare-handed the still-beating heart of that bloated beast. They are an amalgam of art gallery and visceral performance, raw outpouring and studied execution, wild fantasy and cold-gutted reality. With one foot in Oakland, California, and another in the cosmos, Subtle concoct music like youve never heard. Subtle is a band of six meneach with a wide-cast net of good art and associations; each with a veritable arsenal of devices with which to wage pitched battle against all things drab and unimaginativetogether recording, playing, improvising and hoping their way to the far side of song. The single is released on 7" picture disc, coloured vinyl 12" and enhanced CD with the 12" & CD formats including a remix by Soft Pink Truth and all formats include Middle Class Haunt, a collaboration with Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade.
