BAT FOR LASHES is a really good name for a band. I don't know what it means but it feels a bit gothy like. Not that I was ever a goth but as I'm getting older and the bitterness is seeping in the whole gothy thing is much more appealing. This 7" called Trophy is rather good and it's gonna appeal to those who like the more eerie sound side of PJ Harvey, Howling Bells, Nick Cave and that. The use of handclaps instead of drums at one part is remarkably powerful. A thoroughly interesting little 7" single.
