FIELD MUSIC I always seem to write about. For a reason. I think
they're more interesting & jawdroppingly schizoid than just about the
majority of UK bands. The new single 'In Context' sounds like Pinback
crossed with Polvo covering ELO or 10CC. There's still the
stunning array of adventurous sounds but it's the increasingly offbeat
arrangements they employ that bamboozle us. More wonderful ideas than you can
shake a stick at. I'd say it's the worst single they've done, but one
of the best songs as it's got absolutely no chance of ever being aired on
any pop chart orientated shows but displays a stunning sense of adventure.
