Some Bo Weavil goodness in the shape of JAMES BLACKSHAW. His last album on Bo
Weavil (Celeste/ Sunshrine) blew both my socks off to the point where I couldn't
see where they had landed. I was so impressed I went to see him live and I
couldn't believe how young the nimble fingered plucker was. I swear I'm old
enough to be his dad. 'O True Believers' was released earlier this year by the
ever interesting (but often hard work) Important Records label. Now we have a
vinyl edition of 650 all hand numbered. Damned this is good. There be some
damned fine plucking and finger work on this LP folks. I love this 12" record in
all of it's 12 stringed glory. There' s so much warmth and sensitivity in his
work! If I was his dad I'd buy him a new guitar made of gold with his name on
cos I'd all proud 'n all. Ah....
Love this record? Hate it? Tell us.
