Utterly baffled by the quiet return of THE SLITS, an utterly pioneering &
wonderful band. Saw Ari Up last year with my mate Rick (one of those random
let's do a gig jobs) & she blew me away with her powerful Jamaican inflected
dub rock. I have here a 7" called 'Revenge of the Killer Slits' & it's
a brooding, paranoid sounding beast, completely at odds with their masterwork
from the punk era. Kind of dark morphing electro hop on the main track 'Slits
tradition' with a chanting rally call of a vocal from the laydeez, It's got a
unity vibe & a bit of a fuck you attitude & I just can't get enough.
Another contender for sure, this is going home with me.
