ADEM has a new one out this week, 'Launch Yourself ' has mixes from Four Tet, Hot Chip and Thomas Erksen and is spilt over two 7"s and a CD on Domino. The Four Tet mix sounds like what you'd expect him to sound like remixing Adem, with his trademark drumsounds and Adem's intricate percussion reworked into a pretty little track that would probably annoy me if I heard it more than twice. The Hot Chip remix isn't half as bad as I was expecting it to be, keeping the vocal fully intact with a 4/4 kick and discordant and twinkling bells going off all over the place. The original has the most energy of all the mixes with its dirty analogue synth riff which took me totally by surprise. Nothing particularly exciting on here but fans of all parties involved will want to check it. Is it just me or do Domino have a new release out every week, between them and Four Tet they're taking over the world.

What their label says...

Relentless and compelling, Launch Yourself, the first single from Adems second solo record, sees this most restless of creators striking off for new ground once again. Whilst many are just getting ready to board the nu-f*lk bandwagon Adem helped put the wheels under, the man himself is already long gone and is now combining his traditional song-writing ideas with notions gleaned from hip-hop and experimental music. A highlight from Love And Other Planets, Launch Yourself expands upon the albums space theme, detailing abandonment on another planet as a metaphor for outgrowing relationships.
