Nothing thus far this week has made me want to self destruct which is
great. I was expecting everything to blow beyond belief. I thought
Phillip had stitched me up a kipper when I clocked the new
Gossip single in my pile. For some reason I thought they were some trendy London hair band but I'm reliably told they used to be on
K records. I'm trying to work and the bastard doorbell keeps going. The postie has mistaken the
Gossip
track 'Listen Up' for something called 'I Can Hear Sunshine'. He's ace
our postman, he reminds me of Plug from the Bash Street kids. Anyway
this
Gossip
single although it's not great it's inoffensive with a bassline
that's quite catchy and a vocal that's actually got some soul. The
percussion is like a New York punk funk thing with a remix on the CD by
MSTRKRFT which has a Liquid Liquid / Scissor Sisters feel
to it. The CD also has a video you can play on your computer which
seems to be the thing to do these days. The future is now.
