I've dug some of Giardini Di Miro's output over the years. That remix album was nice & the
Italo take on post rock is quite refreshing. I've a new 12" to review & wanted to check out the
Alias & Apparat mixes first, on the flip. Alias does a breezy, drifting thing - like
The Notwist. As does Apparat
actually who brings his trademark sonics to the fore, making it into a
euphoric, juddering alien landscape with morphing atmospherics over a
sweet subtle piano & yearning vocal. One of his most impressive
mixes I'd say! Don't like the A side 1st track on 'North Atlantic
Treaty of Love' but the second track has Tom De Geeter on vocals, is quite cool & sounds a bit
Anticon so there ya go.
