'Pockets' which is an exclusive track which features on his forthcoming
DJ kicks mix and is available on vinyl for the first time complete with
a minimal version on the flipside. Phillip was just saying how much he
likes this guys drumsound and I have to agree, although I find it
difficult to tell
what's live drums and what is electronic. I suspect he samples live
drums but I'm usually wrong about these things. The funky drums slowly
become smothered by a dense pulsating synth and pretty electronic
melodies. The minimal version does what it says on the packet and sees
the track reduced to its basic elements and reconstructed into a
minimal almost dubby techno track.
