Dubstep heavy weights Skream and Loefah collide for the mighty 'I' and 'Monsoon' remixes. These two producers can seemingly do no wrong at the moment and its clear to see why they have attracted such a cult following. 'Monsoon' begins with gorgeous ancient oriental strings then kicks in with a shifting bassline and subtle percussion. The dub is skanking with a rasta vocal sample then a magical oriental flute appears giving the track a real sense of depth and melody. The flip 'I' steers away from the ethnic music influence going for a futuristic, almost Detroit techno inspired approach. It's a sinister beast indeed. The bassline is throbbing and there's a synth with nice resonance that sounds like a lazer or something. It makes me think of being in a big smoke filled warehouse then getting paranoid and freaking out imagining that an army of evil tooled up robots are going to burst in and do bad things to me. Quality 12" as always from Tempa.
