Dunno why I dig this single by Theoretical Girl so much. It's like the girl from Melys singing over a track by the godawful NY prog gimps Ratatat but it really, really works. It's got that weird synthesized & compressed guitar sound all over the shop & a simple motorik pulse beat. I think as it sounds like not a great deal else, it actually does the job in a quirky minimal way. The aponymous flip has more of an adventurous beat & a stroppier lyric with a cool little bass line but a whole album of that fucking guitar would make me wanna lump hammer baby animals in the face. Debut release on chap from Twisted Charm's label!
