Also on Kranky the new album by Growing. The lovely picture of
a tree on the front bodes well, pretentious long winded title doesn't (enough!
everyone). The first track drones nicely but heads into a cul de sac.. The
second track sounds like Suicide without the vocals or drums or tunes.
Finally, finally something happens about 15 minutes in which sounds like Yo
La Tengo at 16rpm. The sounds and tones in this record are quite lovely but
there are times that I wish more would happen to satisfy my restless ear. The
final track is a nice think with an excellent song bird accompaniment. Drone
rock, I guess, without the rock bit. The Soul of The Rainbow is on CD aaaaaaaaand LP
