New single from Gravenhurst on Warp Records. The A side here is
fantastic - its much more upbeat than anything I've heard from Gravenhurst
before. It drives along in an indie/Strokes type style but don't let that
put you off - I'm just trying to give you an impression of the tempo. The lyrics
and singing are nice - its a simple tune and an effective one - it just
lacks the classic chorus to make it a really great single. Unfortunately the B
side is the 100000000000000000000000th cover version of The Kinks 'See my
Friends' - does Ray Davies need any more money? - I think not. The
Kinks were great but everyone covers them all the bleeding time.
