I've never really "got" Matmos. I've found their music strangely unenjoyable in the past. Anyway they have a new one out on Matador that will have the men at The Wire magazine wanking themselves with excitement. On the basis of this new album I think I might have a whole lotta reassessing to do. Its excellent and features a hurdy gurdy. Track two has a hurdy gurdy as well but by track 3 its gone replaced by some marching drums. Pretty interesting stuff as long as interesting is married with listenable on a regular basis. The Civil War features all sorts of guests like David Grubbs, Hrvatski dude that Blechdom lady.
