Matmos eh? Here's a new split single with them on one side and Diemonitrbatss on the other. The Matmos side really does nothing at all. A bit of chunky funky guitar emerges from the mush before it turns in to a 70's cop show theme tune. Oh, its a cover of a Gladys Knight and the Pips song. I've always had them Pips down as avant garde sonic terrorists. T'other side by Diemonitrbatss. is a noisy shouty thing with saxophones-a -wailing. Tis good, though. On Ache records.

What their label says...

The second chapter of the DIV/ORCE series unfolds to reveal two tracks so well-made for each other, it's hard to believe it wasn't intentional. Both songs push threw themselves, relying on pillars of rhythmic energy, and both seem to collapse on
themselves midway, one from intense digital editing, the other from naive, fee-jazz influenced tom foolery.

The parallels between these artists, however buried or abstract they may be, are certainly present. There is a similar creative energy among them both, made present by the seemingly endless possibilities of potential directions either of these songs could travel in. Both seem to be bound by no specific code, leaving them free to wander and explore without any creative restrictions.
