International Bastard Pop Vol 1 and 2. These are two 12" that contains
some upbeat pop/party music that would sound great if you were 'larging' it on a
weekend' (copyright Radio 1). Unfortunately I never 'large it'. I just sit in my
house contemplating how many people I can possibly get away with maiming when I
snap after George W gets back into power. A terrible sad existence. Its kind of
Bastard Pop but not obvious like that er Franz Ferdinand with Beasties
abomination. Its a lot cleverer than that. Mad samples thrown over naggingly
familiar backing tracks and some obvious ones, but 'Cry me a River' is such a
fucking classic. The subtitle is 'Bastard Pop, Electro Remixes, Bastard Breaks,
Power Noodles'. I can't put it better than that. The most fun you can have while
keeping your shoes on.
