Ed Harcourt was in Snug who were an indie band from mid 90's
ish. They were brash post Britpop fun gear. Well he's now a top pop recording
solo artist type thing and he's signed to Heavenly records. All of this
you probably know but I have to start somewhere. He has a new single out on CD
and 7" (which is limited) of sensitive mature sounding classic singer
songwriter stuff. Will appeal to fans of Richard Hawley, Badly Drawn Boy,
Turin Brakes and even Coldplay. So not breaking any new ground as
such but the chap is obviously talented and I'd go as far as to say I quite like
this. Probably the most inoffensive record I've heard all week. A triumph!
