Nina Nastasia on the other hand....Mmmmmm! A constantly captivating
gothic folk chanteuse whose last two albums are proper fantastic. Now Touch
& Go have seen fit (at last!) to re-issue her IMPOSSIBLE to find debut
"Dogs". This is beautifully presented & lusciously recorded
southern folk blues for fans of PJ Harvey's more acoustic moments, the
superb Laura Veirs & the wonderful Shannon Wright. As
"The Blackened Air" & "Road To Ruin" are constant
sellers (as so much timeless music is) I expect this transfixing &
surprisingly uplifting debut (It's generally lighter in touch than her later
work) to follow suit. On vinyl & CD.
