Something that you don't need a TV for. The new Chronomad CD/LP on Alien Transistor. Which if you don't know is either the Notwist's label or some chuffer from said band. You could argue that this is the new world music albeit with some electronics. Fusing lots of different styles of music from all around the world you get a complete mish mashed plate of food which tastes surprisingly good. I hate world music as a rule. That Heinz advert. Why? This is far removed from that so fear ye not travellers. It reminds me a little of My Life In The Bush of Ghosts by Brian Eno and David Byrne......I suspect it would make for a lovely listen when you're finally home after being out off yr mash to the early hours. Nice stuff indeedy.
