What isn't boring is yet another Whiskey.
After this there won't be any for a while as I let the plethora of releases
sell a little so I can get some cash back to do more. Expect the next
batch in Sept/ Oct. Anyway finally out is the long awaited joint release
between Jonathon Whiskey and Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records
of America (Kevin Whiskey 35/ HHBTM034). This is a ltd 7" and there
has been 500 copies pressed. After the band got their copies the label
and me have split the rest so we've got just over 200 each. In case you
didn't know Vince Mole was a founder member of The Apples In
Stereo and I believe he played on their debut single Tidal Wave (a
pop classic). This single was slated to be the final ever Elephant
6 release but the label went bust and it never surfaced. Unitl now
that is...... Here you've got 3 tracks of glorious fuzzy lofi summer 60's
induced pop which Clinton reckons it sounds like really early REM.
Personally I think there's a lot of early Apples In Stereo in there. Nothing is fucking great anyway cos I wouldn't have released it if it wasn't.
Enough already.
Love this record? Hate it? Tell us.
What their label says...
This singles name is Kevin. It's full name is Kevin Whiskey 35 and it's a joint release with Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records in America. It's limited to 500 copies. Half of which will be sold in the UK and the other half wil be sold in America. Vince Mole is one of the original members of The Apples In Stereo and this single was penned to be the last single to come out on Elephant 6 but the label label folded. It's been in limbo until now! They all come in handmade sleeves and it's got 3 poptastic tracks on. Track Listing
1. Nothing 2. It's Raining In My Mouth 3. The Room Song
