Ooh, I've been quite intrigued by this singles series, mainly 'cos it sounds like most of them will feature people who aren't actually on Ghost Box but share some common ground with the label. They're starting off on familiar ground though, with stalwarts The Advisory Circle contributing an excellent example of the label's schtick with their combination of Radiophonic tones, soft rock acoustic guitars and laid-back percussion which sound as gentle, playful and whimsically English as can be on the surface whilst skillfully obscuring the slightly sinister edge given to us by subconscious images of public information films long past. On the flip they team up with Hong Kong in the 60s whose vocalist enhances the soft focus feel of the track an absolute treat with her hushed, sweetly cooed tones evoking hazy soft-focus memories which are just that little bit too idyllic to be in any way accurate. Cracking choons on a heavy vinyl slab.

What their label says...
The Advisory Circle take a look at the passing of the seasons and offer a beautiful new piece called “New Dimensions In”.
On the B side The Circle's Jon Brooks is joined by Hong Kong in the 60s with a vocal rendition of the Mind How You Go album track, “Seasons”. With lyrics hinting at benign midsummer rites and rituals this version is entitled, “Seasons Change”.
